pretty much done! just need to hem the skirt - by hand, blech - and also hand stitch the dress lining together. jay has talked me into fashioning some sort of wolf as red riding hood's grandma outfit for him. i got some fur at joann's yesterday and bought some granny clothes at goodwill. we'll see what i come up with.

oh so cute! i bet it's even cuter in person.. and on her. i've been blind hemming trevor's pants recently - there's a stitch on my machine (09) - don't you have the same one?? it takes a few to comprehend how to set it up, but I think worth it just to not have to do it by hand.

i do have that #9 stitch! I'm excited to try it. I lack the patience for hand stitching - especially on this dress. The skirt is 84" of fabric - gathered, obviously, into one petite little skirt.

I tested out good 'ol #9 last night. I think it makes sense now. I'm just wondering if it's going to work with this dress since it has a 3" hem.

PS - have you used the cording foot on your machine? I used it to make the piping for the dress. When I took that upholstery class we made piping but they had industrial sewing machines with special feet. Anyway I'm excited that I can make piping with my machine - it's super easy and looks pretty. Now I can reupholster things!
