simple salem

on my trip to boston my dad's girlfriend and oscar and i went up to salem on the ferry. we took a trolly tour of the little quaint town and i was just smitten with all the simple, rustic colonial architecture. i can't get enough of those crazy sloping roofs! or anything tidy and simple just floats my boat. the last image was this italianate feeling little piazza tucked in close to the city center, but kind of obscure. loved that.

simple is good! these pics make me want to cut little house blocks out of wood with crazy roof lines and paint them white. white things lately have caught my eye - i guess because they are simplified.

i miss new england fall.

oh...and...you can take a ferry to salem? who knew!

like a little white monopoly city. that would be cute!! maybe in a rainbow of colors would be fun too. it could be made to sit in one of those board puzzle things (we have farm animals, other animals, and transportation-ish ones) but modern and more 3D.
